====== Supplier Defect Report - lifecycle ====== The Supplier Portal enforces standardized lifecycle for all Supplier Defect Reports (SDR). The SDR lifecycle is based around the industry standard methodology of problem solving technique called **8 Disciplines Problem Solving** commonly known as **8D** (more on 8D here: [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Disciplines_Problem_Solving]]). Together with 8D steps each SDR is assigned a status which is based on the immediate situation of the reported defect and content of the SDR record on the portal. The status of the SDR can be only changed/updated by Bobcat's responsible Supplier Quality Engineer and/or Accountant. Representatives of the Supplier can't change the SDR status.
